Bali- The Island of the Gods

Bali is a world renowned tourist destination and would probably one of the most popular around the world. Exotic and full of diversity, that’s Bali island to most visitors. Bali has miles and miles of white and black sand beaches, warm tropical climate, stunning flora and fauna, rapid rivers, sacred caves, picturesque rice terraces, lush rainforest and warm, friendly people are some of the things that make Bali very special. Bali is also a snorkeling and diving paradise because the island is surrounded by coral reefs.

Bali is an exotic tropical island known for its culture and traditions which is popularly centered in Ubud. Bali is a very small island so it is easy to explore. Friendly and hospitable locals calls the tourist ‘tamu’ which means guest and welcomes them.

How to get there? Bali is listed as Denpasar in airline codes which is the name of the island’s capital. But not to worry, Bali’s international airport is just around 15 to 30 minutes by car to Kuta, Legian, Sanur and Nusa Dua, and in about 50 to 60 minutes you can be in Ubud. Bali is well connected to a lot of countries and has a connecting flight to most regions around the world making Bali accessible to those who wants to spend some time in the island of the Gods.

Bali is filled with many mountains and volcanoes reaching to the clouds, one in particular is Mount Agung which is also known as ”mother mountain” the highest mountain in the island which is also an active volcano. Bali also has a lot of beaches like Legian, a beautiful beach on the north coast where a lot of dolphins can be seen. Jimbaran is one of the most serene and quite beaches. Kuta is the most popular so expect a lot of people in this area. It’s also the center of nightlife in this island which means there are so many choices when it comes to food, party and of course shopping. Kuta is the best place to shop for surfing branded clothes and accessories. Kuta is also where you can find all major hotels in Bali. Uluwatu is a popular surfers’ choice. Sanur is an ideal beach for snorkeling and Nusa Dua beach with great hotel where some of which have private beaches.

Water sports enthusiasts will have loads of fun in the island. You can enjoy water skiing, wind surfing, snorkeling and of course surfing. You can also enjoy diving as Bali has a lot of great dive spots, some of which are on the east coast of the island near Candi Dasa, Amed and Tulamben. You have the opportunity to see a lot of colorful exotic fish, coral, sharks, whales, crustaceans, sponges and some ship wrecks of ships.

And if you’re not that much excited about the watersports, there are still a lot of things to do like a relaxing massage on the beach or indulge in a rejuvenating spa or you could go for a little shopping. Bali is a great shopping destination for ancient art, furnitures, traditional gold and silver jewelries, textiles, statues, masks and other decorations and souvenirs. No matter what activities you choose Bali has something in store for you.
