Cambodia is often associated with Angkor Wat in Siem Reap or The Killing Fields in Phnom Penh. Not a lot know that Cambodia also has a lot of beautiful beaches. And one of those beaches is known as Otres beach.

Otres beach is one of the more relaxed beaches in Sihanoukville. It’s also becoming a popular destination among travelers because of its amazing four kilometers long stretch of clean, white sands and calm, crystal clear waters. It’s also one of the prettiest and budget friendly beaches in the area. Guesthouses and local restaurants are widely available, with rooms starting from $10 per night (might be even less during the off peak season). During low season Otres Beach is even quieter than the rest of Sihanoukville. Because of its relaxing vibe and quite atmosphere, you may even think that you’re on a deserted island especially during the low season.

There are two ways to get to Otres Beach. You can go the inland route or you can follow the coast. You could hire a motorbike or bicycle to travel around the area. There are also tuktuk (rickshaw) that could take you to and from Otres to other areas of Sihanoukville.

There are lots of activities that can be done in Otres like taking catamarans, windsurfing, kayaks, various boat trips, bicycles and a nice long lazy sunbathing. You could also go to the other beaches in Sihanoukville like Victory, Occheuteal, Serendipity and Sokha among others.

There are plenty of budget accommodations In Victory Beach and this place is also popular for its thriving nightlife. Sokha Beach is owned by Sokha Beach Resort, it is private but you can access it by paying a couple dollars. Occheuteal Beach is a long and narrow strip of white sand beach located near Serendipity Beach. You can just stay at Otres beach and just lie on the sand and enjoy the peaceful and relaxing vibe the wind in your hair and its great sunset and just forget about everything else.
